Ok, so after many years of using my kids as video test subjects, I may have offically worn out my welcome. It gets harder and harder to have them sit there while I play with the different settings on my camera. Looks like i'm going to have to start paying them (lol).

Naw, you don't have to pay them. That's why god invented stun guns.

I came across this home review recently. The guy has a Glidecam 2000 with a Merlin vest. Not an insignificant setup. So after talking about in front of his bathroom mirror for a while, he takes it on a tour of his house; down the stairs, and into and around a room where three of his young lads are engaged in various activities.

They didn't turn a hair. They didn't even look up to see what their crazy dad was doing rushing around the house looking like the Terminator. Priceless.

My kids threatened me to stop doing that. So did my wife. I can't even get my grandkids to let me run after them with a camera anymore. I used to chase my dog, but she's gone now so I either have to find something else to do or retire! ;-)

You could get a new dog. Or something more interesting. A lion/tiger/bear? "Hey grandkids, you can get in the cage if you pose for a video!"

They're too damn smart for that. I'd probably be the one in the cage! PLUS the 14 year old get's stuck in his video game world, the 9 year old is too much of a diva for grandpa anymore and the 4 year old is a pure goofball. I have a very hard time keeping up with them. ;-)
And no more dogs. It was hard as hell putting her down when we knew it was the right and only thing to do for her. She was my best bud! :-(

Reminds me of that thread on Fred Miranda last year, of the guy who had to leave his (stills) camera and tripod behind, and make a run for it when a grizzly wanted to try its hand at photography.

Those pics are amazing! but it would have been a better story if the bear picked up the camera and started shooting with it! ;-)

Apparently the grizzly isn't a Nikon fan.
