Hi All,

I have been working with a few freelancers over the past year and now want to have them sign a contract basically outlining that on the day they are going to be working to the best of their abilities, how many breaks are included, amount paid, ownership of footage etc.

Is there a good template out there that anybody can suggest?

Create your own, that way you will get precisely the wording you require.

Here's what I did about a year ago when I decided I needed to start using contracts.

I googled the phrase 'wedding video contract template', downloaded this (http://www.mediacollege.com/video/wedding/business/contract.html), and modified the terms to suit what I wanted, added a couple of clauses and now use it for every job. I know I haven't run mine by a solicitor or anything so it may have a few legal flaws, but I also mention this to clients and I think they trust me more because of it. I also explain that the contract also protects them as much as it protects me. Since I started using it I haven't had any issues. Although this sample size is still pretty small.

I have in the past had problems with having clients keep up to their payment promises which was my inspiration for writing up a contract in the first place.
