Hello all-
I shot a footage with my xl1s of B/G gift opening (Interior) and messages for B/G from friends and relative (Exterior). Now that I am downloading footage for post-editing.....the audio of the messages shot outside has an echo. What did I do wrong? I was about 5 feet away from subject. How can I fix it?
Please help!!
Thanks!
Joven

i can't explain the cause of the echo, but i experience an echo while i am monitoring video during the capture process (with scenalyzer). once the footage is on the hard drive, there is no echo, audio is synched, and everything is fine, so i haven't really thought too hard about it. are you experiencing the echo when you play back the video files from the computer?

Hello-
Thanks for the response.....Actually the echo was when I was just monitoring the video while I am downloading in my computer. I think I had it figured out though....I replaced the ieee link cable. Seems that the echo diminished considerably.

If you are hearing an exho only when capturing, but not when listening to the playback from the VCR or camcorder with headphones, it is probably due to your PC setup. Capture, decompression, and decoding in the PC can add different amounts of delay depening on the path the signal takes and involved software. If you have two paths open for the signal and these signals are mixed in the sound card there will be an echo.
