Going from shoulder mounted Betacams & DVCPro cameras to hand held cameras (Z7U, HVX200, EX1), I really missed how the larger cameras mounted to tripods via the VCT-14 quick release plate.

I just put together a couple posts going through why I like the style of VCT-14 quick release plates & a solutions / products I've found & used. Take a look & let me know your thoughts.

I mentioned the Genus GAP adapter in the Libec AP-1 post. They're 99% the same thing.

The Genus looks like it have a little more sliding range for the 1/4" 20 screw, but I couldn't say for sure w/o the measurements.

I still like the way the Libec looks, how it has more rubber & it is 28% cheaper than the Genus.

Still, either one is going to get the job done.
