I have a few viewfinders for the hm700 lying around, so I wondered if its possible to cut of the 20-pin connector and get it to have a BNC connector for SDI, one for Power etc. Might that be possible? Im planning to use it as a VF for my F3. Anyone have a clue?

If you can find a HM700 service manual and figure out the pinout you could probably get it going.. However it is likely that the viewfinder is RGB..
I have adapted B/W viewfinders for DSLR's in the past which is perfectly doable, but only if you have the pinout of the viewfinder..
Also, instead of cutting off the connector it's much better to find a counter-connector (such as the one the HM700 body has, but then seperate), then your viewfinder still keeps it's value..
