I've heard that the Sony SBACUS10 SxS Card Reader doesn't work with Mountain Lion.
Is this true?
What about Log & Transfer or XDCAM Browser?
Thanks

Why would you want to use Mountain Lion? I always stick with the OS that works for my workflow. In my case: Snow Leopard with FCP7 and XDCAM browser. I have never understood the necessity to change OS, unless there are major advantages in the upgrade...

Until the new versions of your software dont work with your old OS.. I think your riding for a fall here.. it works both ways..

Hey, if he read it on the internet, it HAS to be true, right?
Besides....guys talk.....you hear things....

No worries, Leonard. It all works on ML.

I was happy to stick with snow Leopard, but Apple repair dropped my and ruined my trusty 2009 MBP with expresscard slot. They are comping me a new MPB which is way more powerful than my old machine but driving me nuts trying to set up with my peripherals ( i.e. can't use my Matrox MXO anymore for color correction, esata drives a PITA etc.)

Anecdotally I've heard from a few people that the USB card reader won't work either which would be another PITA.
I can get a thunderbolt to Expresscard adapter but its an end of line device on Thunderbolt so what about monitoring etc etc etc etc.

I am coming up with solutions, but It would simplify life if the SBACUS10 worked on the new machine. I would like to get everything set up before I get it so I don't end up with jobs I can't download cards on.

So my simple questions remains out there - does anyone know if the SBACUS10 works on Mountain Lion?

BTW - You can't use XDCAM Browser to make MOV files for FCP can you?

Dave,
Thanks, but how do you get XDCAM Browser to make MOV files?
I must be missing something obvious.

- Never mind, just opened the manual and found it under clip menu . Thanks

No problem Leonard. Glad you found it. They do a good job of hiding that little "export to FCP", don't they? ;)

Yes , I looked a number of times earlier and its deep in the manual also. It doesn't look like you can rename the clip like you can in log & transfer though. Thanks
