I want to buy a camera for filming events, weddings, etc. and really can't tell which camera would fit me and my needs just by watching specifications or footage, so I was wondering if you could recommend me one.
I'm looking for one that fits most of these points:
- is not a DSLR (I already have one and I can't use anywhere than on a tripod, on planned shots)
- full HD 1920X1080p
- handles itself good or very good in low-light
- ergonomical (I almost never use a tripod, and I take handheld, or "body-held" shots)

All this needless to say in a tight budget.

Oh, and you will need a tripod, hand held wedding shots just wont cut it, shots of service and speeches are immpossible without one

If you are going to get a tiny unit like an XA10 then you might as well use your DSLR as the tiny so-called handhelds are really not much better with stability...your shots are going to wobble.

If you want to hand hold (I do most of the time with the 2nd cam) then your only practical camera will be a shoulder mount unit.... JVC HM750 is my ideal choice as they balance so well ...for budget weddings I use two panasonic HMC82's (PAL models) and combined with an ENG rig (spring loaded support rod from the front of the camera to a waist belt) you can get as stable as a tripod.

Weddings often need handhelds and lots of them but you should still shoot your ceremonies on a tripod on your 1st camera and then you can handhold for the cutaways.
