Hi,

I have a a Sony NEX7 and Iīd like to find some sort of multi bracket so that I can use a mic, a zoom H4N and maybe a third accessory. But I donīt want all of this weight to be over the NEX7. I want it to hook up to the tripod so that I can place the NEX7 over it, as well as the other accessories. Sorry for my ignorance, but is there such a thing? Since, I live in Brazil I have to buy from ebay.

I was thinking about something like this Amazon.com: ALZO Shock Multi-MountŪ for Shotgun Microphones & Audio Recorders - incl. Zoom H4n, TASCAM for DSLR and Camcorder Video Recording: Camera & Photo

Do you think it would put too much stress on the NEX7's hot shoe?

Iīve also seen these 2 options but I find them too bulky and Iīm not sure you can mount them directly into a tripod

I use this:

Amazon.com: Sima SLB-M Video Bracket: Camera & Photo

I attach a zoom H4N and a microphone on it, works well.

I highly recommend the Gearbox by Photography and Cinema. I picked up mine with the rod adaptor kit.

That actually looks awesome. Can you mount it straight on a tripod or do you need some plate or something?

You can mount a manfrotto (or other) quick-release plate to the bottom of the rod kit they sell for it. However, it doesn't have a guide pin hole, so it may torque a bit with use. I just ordered an additional tripod rod adaptor, which will mean I use the P&C kit to mount to rods, then have another rod-based mount that is a lot more robust to mount to the tripod. But, yes, you can certainly do it with the kit as provided.

Thanks for the tip, Ryan. I currently use a $9 Adorama C bracket (http://www.adorama.com/FABC.html) (pictured below) - but I just put the GearBox GB-1 in my cart at Amazon. It is tough to beat a $94 price for a high quality camera cage!

Cheers,

Bill
