View Full Version : Copying and pasting text into text media generator Renton Maclachlan September 7th, 2012, 08:42 PM I should be able to copy and paste text into the text media generator window shouldn't I? Chris Harding September 7th, 2012, 09:19 PM Hi Renton Yep no problem...however just be aware that pasted text usually doesn't conform to the current settings on the media generator...if it's set to say, Arial 72p and you copy text from Notepad which happens to be 10p Times Roman ...that will be applied so you need to highlight your pasted text and choose the correct font and size. Chris Renton Maclachlan September 7th, 2012, 09:23 PM Hi Renton Yep no problem...ChrisWell I wonder why I can't...I'm sure I've done it before...perhaps I'll reload vegas... Renton Maclachlan September 7th, 2012, 09:27 PM It doesn't work in 'Text and titles' but does work in '(Legacy) text'...hmmmm Chris Harding September 8th, 2012, 12:42 AM Hi Renton In Media Generators I just went to Text and dragged the default text onto the timeline and deleted the words "Sample Text" and did a ControlV to paste in my already copied text..it worked fine!! However that's on 10E ..I cannot vouch for 11 ..it has some strange quirks that's why I never upgraded!! Chris Renton Maclachlan September 8th, 2012, 04:14 AM Does 10e have 'text and titles'? 11 has the two options I gave... Mike Kujbida September 8th, 2012, 04:38 AM Renton, Pro 10 only has the regular text generator. 'text and titles' was added in Pro 11. Edward Troxel September 8th, 2012, 08:11 AM CTRL-V worked just fine for me in Sony Titles & Text. Paul Fierlinger September 8th, 2012, 11:27 AM This had me once confused too, because I expected to see "Paste" when I RMB to see the menu and "Paste" was not to be seen. I never guessed that Ctrl V is all I needed to do. IOW, it's not intuitive. Renton Maclachlan September 8th, 2012, 02:22 PM OK... CTRL-V works in Titles and Text. When I RMB in 'Titles and Text' I don't only not get a 'paste' option, I don't get a menu either. What is the difference between these two media generators...except for the input of data talked about? Edward Troxel September 9th, 2012, 06:45 AM And I never notice the RMB not there because I always use CTRL-C/CTRL-V to copy/paste. Yes, if you RMB then the option is not there. If you just CTRL-V, it will work fine. Paul Fierlinger September 10th, 2012, 02:15 AM I think Paste should be in the RMB menu because the copying process starts there -- for most people it's expected because this is common practice. Graham Bernard September 14th, 2012, 02:44 AM Paul, you speak the truth! G Paul Fierlinger September 14th, 2012, 03:14 AM I try............ |
