First test with new XA-10...

After recording a session where a speaker was talking to a small group, I downloaded the .mts files and imported them into my NLE program (Premiere Pro). However, although the video clips play fine in Premiere, I can hear no audio. Soundtrack seems to be there, the volume meter acts normal, but no sound. Same playing in Windows Media Player.

We were using a shotgun mic connected to XLR connected to CH1 and monitoring w/ headsets and throughout it seemed to be working fine. if I plug a headset into the cam and play back the videos, the sound is fine.

Not sure where to start looking for how i messed up??

If you hear audio in the camera, your issue sounds like a post production issue with PP. Consider posting in the PP forum for some ideas also.

Thanks Jeff-- but since posting I managed to figure it out.

Turned out to be one of those DUH! moments. I had moved some gear around before I left for the shoot and when I reconnected things after i got back, somehow the computer speaker got connected to the wrong audio input. Online videos played fine with good audio which caused me to overlook the obvious.
