Step down rings for Micro35 -> Canon Elura85 Mini DV

I want to buy a Micro35 and use it with a Canon DV camera that has a 34mm filter size.......

so I need to go from 34mm to 72mm with step down rings........

I have looked at B&H and not found exactly what I am looking for......

Is this possible?

Thanks much

Scott,
Ill will be releasing a 35mm adapter wth real spinning ground glass in just under a month. It will come with 15mm rod support. I can easily have it custom built to 34mm filter thread size for no extra cost.

let me know if your interested and we can go from there.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hey Scott,
just to answer the step ring part: there may not be a single step ring that will take you from 34mm to 72mm. In fact you may even need three separate rings.
Try your supplier and try and get to 72mm with the leats amount of rings.

It may look like this: 34mm to 37mm, 37mm to 58mm, 58mm to 72mm.

Marius is correct,

There doesn't seem to be a varied enough step up rings to take you directly from 34 to 72mm.

As I say, my 35mm adapter will be released (hopefully) by the 30th of this month. Stay tuned.

Wayne.

It may take two rings but you should be just fine. ;)

James,

Thank you very much for the tip.......

Do you know of anyone successfully using a consumer miniDV camera with the Micro35?

Thanks

I'm planning on doing a similar thing. I was going to go from 34mm to 58mm, and from there to 72mm. Photofilter.com's got 'em.

Cool!
I was wondering about how to get to 72mm! ;-) 34mm isn't too popular it seems.

Scott,
Sure! Many people are using consumer cams with the M2/Micro35. I've used my Sony PC9 handy cam with it as well!

Cheers!

James,
What kind of shim are you using with that handy cam?
