Can anyone verify that the dual record will allow Standard definition on cards and hd or standard definition on internal memory?

Or can it only record hd on both?

I need to have standard def on the card and a backup on the internal memory.

This is something I'd not considered before, as I never shoot SD. So I had a look.

It really seems to me as if you can't do simultaneous recording to both card and internal memory as SD.

"Simul Rec" on the Rec/Media Set menu has an HD icon beside it. That implies that it is for HD only. When I set the camera to SD, the Simul Rec option grays out.

So it seems as if you can only record to internal OR memory card when recording SD. Which seems a bit mean.
