Chris I know it is too late to help you out but not if someone else has the same question.

I purchased the Samsung A850D 27" first replacing my Dell Ultrasharp 24" that was 7 years old. It was giving me trouble finally. Then a week later I replaced the other Dell 24" with the Dell Ultrasharp U27II and I am sending the Samsung back.

The Samsung is very hard to get accurate for a computer monitor with computer work. The Dell I use for my photo work from Adobe and second monitor while editing video. No, it is not my color correction monitor for Video only stills with X-Rite i1profiler.

So my suggestion is buy the Dell and stay away from the Samsung A850D 27"
