I also wonder about the noise reduction - that seems to be the key to the 5DmkIII's high-iso performance, but I wouldn't be surprised if they limited it to differentiate the video performance between the two.

IMO, the 5D3 is cleaner in video mode partly because it handles colors better. When you look at a hard, curved edge on the 5D2, you get false colors sprinkled around the edge. That results in colors that have to be encoded into a half bandwidth (in both dimensions) space with larger macro blocks and less bandwidth. By cleaning up the way the sensor is read - and probably by reading more photosites - the camera is able to eliminate a bunch of color garbage before it ever gets to the next level.

FWIW, I've done some B&W tests on the 5D2 using glass, colored filters and the Monochrome picture style, and it's extremely clean - even at very high ISOs. Since my colored filters lose up to 2-2/3 stops, that extra ISO performance comes in handy! The 5D2's luma noise is fine and fairly attractive as well. It's really the chroma noise that keeps us from cranking the ISO past 1250 or so.

Are these the only 2 lenses that will autofocus properly in video mode?

This makes the recently released 24/2.8 IS and 28/2.8 IS lenses even weirder. It might make sense to give up a faster speed on a prime with both IS and the new video AF feature. That they were released just before the new STM lenses were introduced really makes me wonder for whom these lenses were made. Apparently not for T4i video shooters.

No mention of the 3x video zoom like the 600d - real shame.

Also no mention of improved moire or alaising.

I agree, but there was also a test floating around here somewhere which looked just at the changing noise levels at each ISO. It steadily increased until 1250 and then suddenly the noise all but disappeared, and then increased slightly from there as the ISO continued to increase. It was clear to me that some sort of aggressive noise reduction was kicking in at 1250 and may be largely responsible for the significant improvement over the mkII.

I found this t4i low light sample though and it doesn't look appreciably better than the mkII, so I suspect it doesn't have the same kind of noise processing as the mkIII:

DP Review has a pretty detailed rundown of the camera including close-ups of all the connection options - there's no mention of a headphone jack and none is visible in any of the photos, so I think it's safe to assume there isn't one.
