...or the minute following 11:59 PM on July 5th (which a lot of people assume it is)? Perhaps the deadline should read 11:59 PM, or 23:59.

This has been the common practice (and understanding?) so far during the previous challenges.
Based on that, you should be allowed to upload tomorrow (until 23.59 July 5)

Hi Steve,

Sorry I didn't read this sooner, but Trond is correct--everyone has until 11:59, their time, July 5 to get their entries submitted. I will change the rules to read 11:59 p.m. since military time drives me bonkers (although, even I can decipher 23:59). :)

Leave it to you to inadvertently point out a flaw in the rule, Owen. :) Seems to me that if the start date/time is Mountain Time, in order to be fair to everyone the end date/time needs to be the same; otherwise, our friends who are "ahead" of us get cheated out of some time. So, I think I'll change it to 12:59 p.m. Mountain Time.

Good idea Lorinda! I'm all for that solution.

Agreed! Now Aussies and New Zealanders won't be disadvantaged by almost a day. However it is a little more complicated to work out especially for those of us who don't have to adjust clocks for daylight saving. This might help though:

MST: Mountain Standard Time* (USA & Canada). What's the current time now? / MDT in Summer (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/mountain-time/)

Mountain time works for me : )

As a result of the work I did up on the Nile River for this shoot, I managed to make some contacts with a crew that are working on a large project in the area. Going back up there to do some work with them; so that turned out nicely!

I'll be out of touch for a couple of days, so hopefully Lorinda will unlock my film when its time.

One last thing. I have noticed that Vimeos compression is introducing some sound distortion, especially in the second half of the film in the SD version. This distortion is not present in the HD version that I made (nor is it present in the master export on my computer). I have also noticed that the SD version is extremely soft (again this is not the case in the HD version).

I had filmed this in 1080p, but exported it for 720p for Vimeo. Usually the Vimeo compression does an ok job in reducing it down to SD, but it seems unacceptably bad this time.

So please please try to watch my video in 720p (just make sure that the blue "HD" icon is highlighted in the lower right side of the vimeo player).

Thanks, and good luck!

If you haven't left yet, Simon, go ahead and put up your feedback thread. Videos will be available for viewing a little later today! That goes for the rest of you, too!

i don't know if there is a problem with the privacy settings, but I was able to watch all the videos last night, and the stats suggested that about 30 other people were, too.

I would like to apologize to all for my very late start in commenting upon your UC23 videos. I was unexpectedly called away to deal with a family emergency and I have not yet had an opportunity to view the videos. I will do so now and hope to make comments soon. Please bear with me and once again, I am sorry for the delay.

I'm sorry I'm slow at posting a response. I'm away from home this week at my daughters, and her computer has no audio. I've managed to get to another computer, have viewed some and posted. Hope to get to see the rest tomorrow.
