As the title says.

This is actually for a song I need to do a basic recording of to give to a Thai artist as a guide on how to perform it. I have the backing track in the timeline as an AIFF file, obviously nothing needed in the canvas, and I use the voiceover function with my headphones and a high quality external USB microphone (usually used for voiceovers.)

I also have a second issue - It doesn't help much that I can't hear my voice through the headphones as the track is playing. I'm no pro singer but I could be less crappy if I was coming through on the cans.

Help welcome as always!

click on the sequence. mark in and out at the start and end of the track you want tp export to mp3. disable the other audio track in the track header on the left hand side of the timeline. go to file>export>using quicktime conversion. once in the export window, choose audio-only and mp3. choose a destination.

iTunes will convert AIFF to MP3

Drop the AIFF to be converted on to iTunes
Select the imported AIFF in the iTunes library
Go to Create MP3 version in Advanced menu
Drag the MP3 on to the desktop

There may be a quicker way but that works.

Thankyou for replies so far, I'm still trying to figure out how to hear both the vocals and the music track on the headphones. It's not essential but I want to do the best job I can. If it isn't possible i'll take it on the chin.
