Malcolm Hamilton May 10th, 2012, 07:40 PM Hi Bill, I use a Sony EX1 and a Canon XF100 together (mostly for interviews), and for me, they work well together. Lighting has to be sufficient or the Canon looks flat compared to the Sony. I'm always careful to frame and angle shots quite differently, so no one's comparing shots that are trying to look exactly alike. I know you're asking about the EX3 and the XF300, but my experience might still count. Regards, Malcolm Robert Turchick May 10th, 2012, 08:39 PM I have cut my xf300 with ex1r and ex3 footage from other shooters. They work well together BUT a lot depends on the picture profile used. I tend to prefer shooting for highest dynamic range on my 300 which means I grade everything in post as it looks flat and lifeless. I've gotten ex footage both ways, sometimes it looks good as is, sometimes a picture profile has been used. Bottom line is aside from color which is adjustable, the images are very similar. What techniques do you use for grading Robert? |
