Just finishing up editing a music video for a friend (read no charge) and wanted a few scenes of b-roll of various things such as a hearse, waves etc. Any recommendations on an inexpensive source of b-roll for download?
Thanks

While it is possible to find free footage on the web, it's very limited and most often nature stuff. Once you start to identify exactly what you want (like a Hearse) you probably won't find anything.
In these circumstances, I start looking at YouTube. With millions of minutes of footage, you may find what you're looking for. For example, here's eight minutes of footage of a Hearse parade: The Day That Hearses Ruled The World - Part 1 - YouTube (http://youtu.be/q9AFHiWfwJI)
Once you've found the footage you want, you need to be polite and get permission. I've found a nicely worded email will work 99% of the time ("I love your video of the Hearses - I'm working on a free project for a friend and I'd love to use a few seconds of it...")
Now you need to download that footage. There are several ways to do that with YouTube, but I'll let you google that info.
