View Full Version : anyone of you is using BOOM RECORDER David Aliperti March 17th, 2012, 03:44 PM IS ANYONE of you using boom recorder? do you thing can it replace a real location recorder? Jeffery Magat March 17th, 2012, 04:34 PM It's been in use for many years. I don't see why not. Rick Reineke March 18th, 2012, 10:26 AM Sure, it works fine on a cart. I'm sure you are aware, it's a Mac based software DAW type recorder. Brian P. Reynolds March 20th, 2012, 03:40 PM Is there a windows PC version of Boom Recorder or something similar to it? Jeffery Magat March 20th, 2012, 04:08 PM I'm unaware of any sort of boom recorder software for PC, and if there is such a thing it hasn't been that popular. Another Mac alternative is Metacorder. Richard Crowley March 20th, 2012, 04:08 PM Is there a windows PC version of Boom Recorder or something similar to it? Alas, no. For production sound people who want to record on a computer (~~) Boom Recorder is very nearly the "Killer App" excuse for buying a fruit computer. Somewhat tempered in the last year by Apple's abject abandonment of the professional editing community by their decimation of Final Cut Pro. Rick Reineke March 21st, 2012, 03:39 PM Steinberg's 'Nuendo Live' is due out this summer. (PC or Mac) Likely geared for live music tracking though may be useful on set. Nuendo Live:|http://www.steinberg.net/ (http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/nuendo/nuendo_live.html) Andy Balla March 21st, 2012, 06:35 PM Reaper supports time code, though I've never used it in such an application. Might be worth a look, and cheap. REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits (http://reaper.fm/) |
