Has anyone experienced this problem? I was setting up my Canon XF 100 for a shoot yesterday and had hooked up to a Marshall Monitor. I turned the camera & monitor on & everything looked fine, I then pushed on the menu button & nothing happened. I turned the camera & monitor on & off, no luck. I had a second camera & was setting it up when that camera man said he had the first camera working so back on the tripod & sure enough the menu was up but I could not make a selection. I went with the second camera, when we got back from the shoot we looked at the problem camera & the menu button & set selector button were working fine???? We called Canon support & they had no answer except to bring it in & have it checked.

I don't have one, but note down all your custom settings, power up with a/c and try pushing the reset button. HTH.

Cheers.

I took the camera to the Canon Service Center & they stated they have seen this problem. It mainly happens on cameras with on sceen menu's because of the strain that repeated pushes put on the joint where the LCD meets the camera. They recommend supporting the back of the LCD with your fingers when pushing on the LCD.

That's a good idea with all cams .. are they repairing yours under warranty?

Cheers.

This was just a one time problem, the camera worked when we got back from the shoot & is working fine now. They did say if it happens again they will take care of it under warranty. One other point you must bring your sales slip with you for warranty work even though the camera was registered the repair facility can not link to this data.

Great, if you couldn't get it to work maybe they just 'unstuck' it .. I see Murphys law coming into play :)

Cheers.
