Just upgraded to the HPX 250. Great Camera and the P2 workflow with Avid MC is really nice and easy. Only downside so far: The flimsy mic holder, even worse than that of my old XH A1.

As I'm doing a lot of news stuff under partly rough conditions, it just seems to be a matter of time until the thing will break. Any suggestions for a rock solid 3rd party mic holder that will replace the original one and fit together with the Rode NTG 1? I just found alternatives for the hot shoe - which don't work for me, because I need it for my headlight.

My old HVX never came with a mic holder, so I had contacted the folks at thejrodstore.com (http://www.thejrodstore.com/) who kindly altered one of their EX Twin Mounts for the HVX. Worked beautifully, and still does on my AF100 (and HVX when needed).

Thanks a lot, Kevin, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Hi,

I went into this URL - thejrodstore.com - but, apparently, it does not work anymore. Does anybody still makes a rugged version of the HPX250 mic holder?

Thanks.
