View Full Version : Can't Get S&Q Option to Work on EX1R/3 Larry Kropp March 3rd, 2012, 11:47 PM Please see other slow motion post. Rob MacFarlane March 4th, 2012, 12:15 AM The PMW-EX1R manual states that slow motion of 1-60 frames per second is available for these video formats: NTSC HQ 1280/60P, HQ 1280/30P, HQ 1280/24P. PAL HQ 1280/50P, HQ 1280/25P No indication that the slow motion feature is available in 720/30P. In taking at look at my EX1R, I don't even see a setting for 720/30P, though I've not run the camera in SD mode. I usually run the camera at HQ 1920/30P, unless shooting in slow motion (at 60FPS) and then will drop to 1280/30P. You might try one of the modes described in the manual, and see how it works for you. For that matter, I should go experiment more with the other slow motion modes... - rob Doug Jensen March 4th, 2012, 06:13 AM 720/30P and 1280/30P are two different ways of saying the same thing: 1280x720 @ 30 progressive fps. On the original EX1 (and most cameras) Sony calls 1280x720 by the vertical dimension "720P". But on the EX1R they call the same shooting mode by the horizontal dimension "1280". They have done the same thing with 1920x1080. Sometimes it is called "1920" and sometimes it is called "1080". Either way, the actual shooting format is the same. Larry Kropp March 4th, 2012, 10:20 PM Thanks for the update Doug. After watching the DVD'd thats what I thought. 720/30p and 1280/30p is the same thing. Any idea why I'm getting the "cannot proceed" message? I'm following the DVD's, which by the way are very well done and extremely helpful. I cannot imagine using this camera w/o the set of DVD's you did. Thanks. Larry Doug Jensen March 5th, 2012, 08:37 AM Larry, Please explain the problem again. I have not been following the thread. |
