Hello, Everyone

I forgot to format my SDHC card on my Panasonic GH1. I recorded video onto the card. The card says it has 5 GB worth of something in there and about 9.8 GB for free space. I just can't see it. I'm looking under the Private/AVCHD/BDMV/Stream directories. There is only 1 clip.

When I finished my project today, the camera says I had 107 clips.

I put the card into the camera and the camera says it can't read the clips now. The camera says this for each clip: "This MOtion Image cannot be played".

Am I screwed? Is there anyway I can recover these files?

The card reader is good because it can read my other Lexar Professional Cards 16GB.

Help!!

The clips will be there -try and open them up under something like video or HDV. Mine did the same first time and I found the clips under some strange file name - and yes I also had the same message in ny camera. They will be there though. When you finish, format the card and it'll be fine.

Hi, Chris

I use Sony Vegas Pro 10. For clarification, should I use the NLE to see if the files are there? I already tried the Lexar image restore 4 program and that didn't work. My NLE doesn't seem to see the files although the card says the files are there. I just can't see them.

I'm not familiar with Vegas at all. I use CS5.
The clips will be there - try mediastream or clipwrap or something like that to transcode for vegas maybe.

I finally figured it out. I used PhotoRec (a free program) to recover the hidden files. This is a lesson learned. I sure won't forget to format my SDHC card inside the camera again.

Thanks for your help...
