Folks, I bought a used XHA1 3 years ago. I dont shoot professionally. Mainly just a hobbiest. Is there a way to check the hours this has been used? Also, this camera has been used outdoors a lot. Is there a place I can send it to have it cleaned and any preventive maintenance completed?

Nope, there is no way to establish the run hours on your Canon camcorder, period.
