So here is the question, my ex3 is gone , i have shoots coming up that I neeed a camera for, do I buy another ex3 or something else or wait.

I do run and gun field shoots , but also lots of interviews and stuff like that which i wish i had a dslr for.

Any ideas

please tell me you had insurance. in the meantime, there are people that rent them and the ex1rs. thats your best bet. what kind of project are you shooting.

What about getting a used EX1 for the short term anyway. You're used to the form factor, and it would cost a lot less than a new EX3.
Best of luck,
Malcolm

No insurance, ouch! For the record, if anything ever happened to my EX3 I'd replace it with another EX3 as it's ideally suited to the bulk of the work that I do - corporate (and I have other cams for certain other applications).

Several years after it's launch it's still a class leading cam - great images and wonderful viewfinder.

BTW, you may have seen that another forum member in the US has one for sale at the moment (just in case you missed that).

The EX3 is still my favorite all around camera.

I would definitely get another if I lost mine.

I have tried the Canon 305 and the 250 Pany. I also have an EX1R, and I love matching it with the EX3. The EX3 ergso are far superior, especially with a shoulder brace and IDX/AB batt in the back.

IMHO the EX3 still is the best in this class.

IMHO the EX3 still is the best in this class.

+1
still nothing better than EX for run-and-gun in the same price range

I noticed a recent Dirty Jobs episode installing a radio antenna in the midwest somewhere. Pretty much all the cameras caught on camera were EX3s and GoPros.
