Hi there,

A friend of mine has a LCD TV (Samsung P2579HD) with all the usual inputs that he'd like to place at his restaurant's window and show video promos and slide promo's of his restaurants food and is looking for a media player to play the footage off.

He's preferring a hard drive/flash drive device as opposed to a DVD player as its going to be running continuously (I told him to just buy another $20 player when they burn out, but he ain't listening) and I'm wondering if you an suggest a solution for how he can do this, short of having a computer at the window.

Are there any reasonably priced small players/devices that will output into his LCD TV that you know of?

Thanks in advance.

just buy a cheap dvd and make looping dvds I would think be cheapest and easiest.

Seems some ipod types could do that same job.

Interesting question!!

Get something like the Western Digital TV Live. Put the video on a usb thumbd drive and plug it into the TV. Doesn't get much simpler than that. The advantage over a DVD player is that it will be HD, if that matters. They go for about $100.

I've used the WD player for exactly that purpose. Works great!
