Starting to look for an HD cam. Anyone using the AC130? Any thoughts on how it measures up to the JVC HM150?

For starters
The 130 has 1/3" chips and the JVC only 1/4" chips...there is also a vast difference in the lense too..the HM150 has a tiny diameter lens compared to the 130 with way better glass overall. The JVC does come with a mic but that's not a big deal I have Rode VideoMics on mine for less than $150 extra.

If you are going to be working indoors then the 130 will do a much better job in low light... an HM750 is more of a match and an awesome camera but a lot more money!!!

Camera Brands are much like cars!!! It's a personal choice but make sure you have the right specs for your shooting conditions..if you are shooting outdoors or in a studio always with decent lighting then the JVC will do a great job!!!

There are a couple of 160 owners here who can give you their opinions too (same as the 130 but it has variable frame rate and NTSC/PAL switchable)

Amani,
Have you already narrowed your camera choices to the AC130 and HM150? Are other cameras up for consideration? The AC130 and HM150 use different codecs. Do you have a preference?
What will you be using the camera for? What are your budget constraints?
Lots of questions, unless you've already decided between the two listed.
