Not sure if this should go into FCP forum or here. Last weekend I shot about 11 hours of footage for a training DVD on my XL-2. The shoot was indoors, we had a controlled lighting situation and a production monitor to check our shots. I shot in 30p because I felt the solid frame makes a better picture. Playback of raw from the camera on a monitor or standard TV set looks beautiful. However, after capture, I get a slight ghost hilight around the edges of all the people in the shot. This takes the form of a red smear or line along their legs arms and bodies and it stays for a moment after they move. Anyone have an idea what causes this? I'm capturing using FCP 5 and the standard NTSC DV preset (which, strangly, defaults to 100% compressor quality. FCP 4.5 always default to 50%, and the manual said to use 50%. Anyone have any idea about this?)
