Picked up a good used Sigma 50-500, AF-D version recently. I've always wanted to do more wildlife filmmaking...
...now I just have to clear more than a half hour from a day to, maybe, actually leave my yard or something.

The AF-D, is that the Nikon mount, or the regular 4/3 mount?
Did you try using ETC?

Nikon AF-D - it's the older version and has an aperture ring (yay).
The squirrel, plane, moon, and rooster were all in ETC at distances of ~50 yards to 238,857 miles

Thanks... that's very helpful.
Did you have to stop the Bigma down very much?

I believe I was running at 200-400 ISO and around f5.6-8 for everything. Probably not optimized, but what can you do in a half hour.

Shot this little piece on the way home from a job the other day. I'm pretty happy how it turned out, straight out of the camera. Quite a bit of detail lost in the web compression, but oh well.
