All adds up to major problems.
I shot in 1080/24P 24mbps, and we cannot import the video. No conversion programs work. Not Voltaic, or any others. The NLE refuses to import any video.
Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried converting in MPEG Streamclip yet?
FCP 6 doesn't have the AVCHD codec, if memory serves correctly.

I'm running FCP6 (although on a MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz and a screamin fast Hackintosh with no problems.
There is a codec pack on Apple.com with ProrRes, HQ, LT, etc... try installing those. Install Perian.
This is beside the point that trying to edit this kind of footage on a PowerPC is going to be problematic. The $1299 MBP would run circles around it. Even one of the first-gen Intel processors, now available on eBay or craigslist for a few hundred bucks, would outperform your PowerPC.

Try ClipWrap if you can't get anything else to work.
