I'm using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0 and it has an annoying "improvement" over earlier editions I can't seem to change. When I create Text Media it creates a box around the text, apparently for sizing purposes. but I can't get rid of the damn thing! When I render, the box is still there. I try to delete the box and just have the text alone and unfettered in all its glorious purity. How do I eliminate the box??

Thanks!

How about a snapshot of what you are seeing?

I wish I could post that quick 'n easy, but at the moment let me add it's a box with those square little corners. I find nothing that can delete them. The other text media features on earlier Vegas were sooooo simple and uncomplicated.

I know the new Sony Titles and Text generated media does show an outline on the preview screen where you can resize/adjust position on the actual preview screen. However, as soon as I close the "Titles and Text" GUI, the adjustment handles go away as well.

I also tried rendering leaving the GUI open but the render did NOT have the handles.

Wow, you nailed it! I closed the GUI preview window and the box disappears. I never thought of doing that because on earlier versions I don't recall anything similiar.

Thank you!!!!

When I edit text (or effects), I always close the dialog when I'm finished. But even leaving it open did not cause this to happen in my case - however, I can see how it could possibly do so. "Titles and Text" is different in that it allows you to edit somewhat on the preview screen as well as the Titler dialog which is why the handles appear at all. In the older titler, you couldn't do that.

Thanks for the input.
