I'm interested in the ProLens Control cable from nanoFlash.net. Anyone using it yet? I'm curious how well it works.

I'm using my Nano with an HDX900 and I'm generally afraid to shoot without rolling tape at the same time anyway, so I'm not sure if it's worth the extra expense over the simple tally light cable.

Dear Kirk,

The advantage of this cable is that one can press the record button on the lens to start the nanoFlash.

This allows one to use continuous running timecode in the camera, and then start and stop the nanoFlash in a very convenient manner.

One can record to tape internally, or leave the tape out.

This cable also has a small red tally light that can be positioned near the camera's viewfinder.

The disadvantage, at this time, is that the record button must be held down for 1/2 second for the nanoFlash to stop recording. This may change in the future.

Thanks Dan. I was wondering if the record button needed to be held down for an extended time.
