Hey guys, so I'm using Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS5.

I've recently filmed a few weddings, and I'm having problems creating a bloom effect.

Any suggestions?

Here's a tutiorial: Tutorial - Creating Bloom Effect (http://www.oferz.com/Tutorials/BloomEffect/BloomEffect.html) The technique applies to Photoshop or AfterEffects, but the same tools are in PPro..

Another on Lynda.com. Google is your friend.....!

That tutorial pretty much says it all... only thing I do different is that I push my contrast up (rather than down as the tutorial says) as I find this then gives me very clean, very black blacks and masks a lot of the noise (great for the groom and groomsmen), as well as making the bride's dress really shine and stand out from everything else.

I usually apply a very subte amount of this effect as the final step of any wedding video I edit - I nest all my timelines into a new sequence, duplicate them all onto a new layer, and then make the adjustments to the top layer. Normally I'll have the opactity at about 15-20%.

Also have a play with the saturation on both the top level and the bottom level - you can achieve a great bunch of variations by adjusting this with different combinations.
