Hello, not sure what is causing this but can anyone shed any light?

Using CS5, I think I've got all the latest updates installed. My 1440x1080 timeline, footage is captured accordingly. File>Export>Media and choose MPEG2-DVD. I've gone through all the presets, including match sequence attributes, and they all do the same...

What it's doing is putting a black border around the video, as if it is shrinking it on screen. It doesn't do this when I want to export HD footage, only when I want to export a DVD format. I can see it when I click the Output tab. Also, it does actually export with added side black bars as if my video file isn't 'big enough' for the timeline. Exports like this either through the direct Export option, or if I queue it to Media Encoder.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

That is correct that narrow vertikal black borders appears.
This due to to dvd-widescreen not being real widescreen.
You can get rid off them by cropping in the export setting 14 pixels from the top and 12 pixels from the bottom.
Dont use match squence setting, you end up with the wrong codec.

Your footage is also schrunken?
Can you post a screendump.

Thank you so much Ann that has worked.
I can send a screen dump if you still want to see one?

Sorry for the delay Ann, I've been busy working... I'll get these to you shortly... PC been rendering this video now for 53 hours! (I wonder if that's normal on a quad core with 4gb ram)

Anyway, different subject... :)
