I'm looking for a fully articulated monitor mount that doesn't use a hot shoe attachment - I find them too untrustworthy.
anyone know of one that can be bolted to a jib arm instead of a hot shoe?

found this that might work fine

I forgot about this thread! I bought a hot shoe bracket that I was going to screw onto my jib arm. thanks for responding - now I'm going to buy the clamp! :)

I'd be curious about a good rail mount arm. I'm using the hot shoe mount at the moment, and I have the SmallHD Strong Arm, but Im not a big fan of it.

Well, maybe I'm just inexperienced with these things. This is my first external monitor, and the accessorys that go along with it. I would much rather have a round knob, to tighten the whole thing down, like on the red rock micro arm (just came across the Redrock product tonight), then the long skinny handle the Strong arm has. I've been trying to keep the monitor close to the camera, and with this tightening handle, it makes it hard to tighten things down. Admittedly I just received my monitor and accessorys a couple weeks ago, and haven't given the strong arm much of a chance yet.

I was just looking on SmallHD's website, and the tightening knob on my Strong Arm, is different from the picture they are showing. I've emailed support and asked if I can get the round knob.

Wow. That's the same one I got, too. If fact, I got two, too.
