Help, I am trying to record in 1080 mode to a focus fs 100 drive via firewire. It is telling me "invalid" and wont record to the drive. How do you set up this camera to record 1080 to a drive via firewire in 1080 mode?

You are using the trigger on the recorder to start recording, right? Is the CAMERA telling you INVALID or the recorder?

And you have placed the camera in 1080i mode as well, correct? It won't trigger the internal tape recorder, as I'm sure you know.

The HD200 does not provide 1080 data stream via firewire. 1080 is only provided on the component Y/CB/CR output (or via SDI on HD250). See also your manual on page 77, 1080i camera setting. If this setting is set to ON, then no signal is delivered via firewire.

Thanks, As I researched further I discovered that it does not transmit via firewire, only the 200UB model does. Wish they would have told me I needed the UB model instead of the U model when I bought it. Guess it's time for a new camera.

Wasn't thinking.. Both of mine are UB models...
