Looks like a couple came after you. WHat kind of gear did you use for the handheld stuff. For that matter, what gear do you take on these treks?

Thanks for the feedback. I used (mostly) my trusty Canon XH-A1 for these shoots. However, I've now switched entirely to a Panasonic Lumix GH2, and a few of the shots in there are from that (the Tiger Salamander, for instance).

You have so many fantastic close up shots. Were any of these shots staged, or are they all wild animals. If they were all wild animals, then it makes it all the more impressive!!

Thanks for the feedback! Some of the shots are staged, and others are in the wild. (See "Full Disclosure at the bottom of the initial post) I did a session with DDD Game Farms in April that allowed me to get some of the larger mammals.

Ah ok, well you still nailed focus etc on all of those shots. Well done, you certainly have made the XH A1 look very good!
