Just wondering where is the best place to buy GH2s? Does anyone know of any Black Friday Deals or Cyber Monday deals on GH2?

Try Panasonic's facebook page, friend or like them forget which, and there used to be a deal for friends on the GH2. Never did it, but it's worth checking.

Check B&H everyday. Someone tipped me off about a month ago that BH had the 14-140 kit for $1199 and the 14-42 for $749. I got one of each and a day later they were back to regular price. This last week I checked one day and the 14-140 was once again $1199 but they were back to $1499 again yesterday. You just have to keep an eye on it and be ready to jump fast when it hits. The 14-42 kit has remained around $999 and I haven't seen another sale on them.

The Panasonic FB page will also run a special from time to time. I'm waiting for someone to do a special on a body only setup.

I haven't seen any announcements for Friday or Monday...yet.

I'll also add that Full Compass Systems has them in stock and my rep there said the 14-140 kit is about $1350 and that is the everyday price from my rep. Not sure all sales people give the same specials as mine has always given me the bigger corporate price plus she is my neighbor. If you wanted to contact her direct shoot me a PM and I will give you her direct contact info. That price she quoted me was from about a month ago so I can't say for sure that is still the price but at the time it was the "unadvertised" price. Full Compass is a reputable AV company here in WI where I live.

If you don't want to wait for the B&H deal to resurface, you can pick up the black body-only at Unique Photo for $810 (free shipping).

Good luck,

Interestingly enough here in the UK the GH2 plus 14-140mm package goes for about £1000 ($1500) but that does include 20% sales tax so would be about $1250 without tax.

They asked me to wire cash after two weeks and having paid by paypal.
Got the refund from paypal after three weeks after I refused to wire cash.
Not sure whats going on here, but double-check the website

Ugh. Sorry about that, mate. I have had good luck with them, but, based on your experience, I will stop recommending them.

Cheapest in UK seems to be around £600 for the 14 - 48mm Kit. So, tempted to pick one up.

Matt, Go for the body with some Olympus primes
I just bought the 12mm F2 and 45mm F1.8. More money but better quality. The kit lens does not get very good reviews.

So, tempted to pick one up.The 14-42mm isn't a very good lens but at just about £20 more than the price for the body only it's worth getting. Also worth considering is the kit of the GH2 plus 14-140mm lens at about £950. It's not great in low light & isn't constant aperture but otherwise it is a very good lens with a very impressive reach. At just an extra £370 it's a bargain as the lens on its own costs £650.

Yeah, I think I'll try and pick up one with the 14 - 140mm lens. I'm going to get it at the end of the month so I will shop around a bit.

Although the 14-140 may be a bargain ask what you want it for. It's a f4-f5.8 so may not give you the minimum DOF you want. The main reason I use this as a second camera is beacuse you can pair it with low f-stop lenses. You will pay more for primes for sure. I'm sure however that this is an excellent general purpose lens.
