Is there a specific reason why JVC only lists several 2/3 inch lenses for use with the HD100? Is it possible to use other 2/3 inch lenses?

I don't see any optional 2/3 inch lenses for HD100...
As far as I know it will be launched at the end of the year a new HD camera from JVC with 2/3 inch lenses

The only optional lenses form JVC for HD100 are the same optional for the GY-DV5100... and of course you will need an mount converter.. from 1/3" to 1/2"... I think the 1/3" CCDs from GY-HD100 cannot support 2/3" lenses.. Correct me if I'm wrong

Sorry for not making myself clear. I am wondering why only those specific 2/3 inch lenses can be used with the mount converter for the HD100 and not other 2/3 inch lenses.

I don't think you can use 2/3" lenses at all. Only 1/3" and 1/2" with the ACM-12 adapter. I don't think there's an 2/3" adapter available. Althought it might not be long till we have a B4 to 1/3" adapter for the HD100. If the XL series has one, I don't see why the HD100 wouldn't. There are talkings of C and PL adpters already. It only makes sense to have adapters for the camera, since it has great potential.

Thanks michael.

There are a variety of 1/2 " lenses available on the market. Is there any reason why JVC has specifically selected only a few of these for the HD100?

The 1/2 inch lenses available for HD100 can be used only in SD mode..

The provided lenses T16x5.5brm and the optional Th13x3.5brm lenses are for HD mode..
