Hello everyone,

I would like to know how to achieve that effect which Glenn Elliot uses a lot i.e. That transition that glows to white and then from white back to video.

I use Adobe Premiere.

Thank you a lot
Chris

It's called a Dip to Color transition.

If you don't have such a transition already, you can emulate it by cross disolving to a white still (RGB 235,235,235) and cross disolving back to video.

I would love to know a good workflow to do the same thing in Premiere Pro. I think it is more than just a dip to white. There is also some diffusion and a boost in the whites in addition the the whole frame getting lighter.

In MediaStudio Pro the video filter that does this is called "Diffuse Glow", maybe there's a similar effect in Premiere?

Just keyframe animate to start with no glow at all and transition to an overcranked glow that fills the frame. Reverse this progression for the next clip and you've got a glowing/flash transition.

The effect has been around for a long long time.
Works well for action montages as well as "mood" pieces for weddings:

Have fun.

A quick and easy PPro solution is a combination of blur and levels. You can blow out to white with levels and add some blur while you do it then reverse.
