I just bought an 8GB memory stick for the PCM-D50, and have questions....

1) After the internal 4GB is full, does it seamlessly continue recording onto the memstick? Or does it stop recording and require that I go into the Menu to switch to the memstick?

2) When recording to the 8GB memstick, does it continuously record to the whole 8GB, or does it stop after 4GB?

In the menu of the PCM-D50, you select which memory you want to record to. Internal or External.
To my knowledge there is no automatic memory card rollover function, but to be fair the longest recording I've done was about 2 1/2 hours, so space for me was not an issue.

The recorder will fill that memory card, but you will see multiple files. From page 25 of the manual.

"If the size of a track exceeds 2 GB during recording, a new track is created automatically and the excess portion will be recorded as a new track."

My interpretation of that is you will see multiple 2 GB audio files for a really long recording.
