View Full Version : HD1xx scene files 2011
Ervin Farkas October 25th, 2011, 08:17 PM For those of us coming late to the GY-HD forum - all of the old downloadable scene file links are now dead... I suspect mainly because at that time DVinfo was not accepting .scn attachments, so the files were posted on various personal websites.
Can we start a new thread and post our favorite scene files?
I am posting what I already have, namely Tim Dashwood's recipes, 8 of them - description to follow in a second post as the number of attachments is capped at 8.
Ervin Farkas October 25th, 2011, 08:25 PM And here is the description of the scene recipes.
Ervin Farkas October 25th, 2011, 08:29 PM Can someone please post Paolo Ciccone's True Color scene files?
Thank you,
Joachim Claus October 26th, 2011, 05:52 AM I think Paolo's scene files are for HD200 not HD100. I do not have them in native JVC-loadable files, however, here is a copy of Paolo's contribution.

Copy of former conribution.....
Eric Gulbransen and I today spent a day testing and calibrating his camera, which is equipped with Nikon lenses and the Zoerk adapter. The results were pretty interesting. One thing is clear, the lenses all focused on the subject, a full-size DSC Fiddleheads chart, without any issue. This is a proof of the high level of accuracy of the Zoerk adapter.
We then worked on the color configuration in order to get the lenses and the camera as close to 1:1 reproduction as possible, the stated goal of all my configuration settings. Eric had loaded the TC v1.0 for the HD200, tweaked it a bit on his own and then I did the fine tuning using the DSC ChromaDuMonde 28-color chart.
This configuration works pretty well for the combination of Nikkor lenses and this camera, your results might vary.
Anyway, I decided to post the resulting settings so that others can test them and possibly report about the results. Remember, different units can and will give different results, that's the reason why, if you want to calibrate your own camera, you should egt your own chart. Anyway, here is the full configuration, which from now on I will call TrueColor HD200 v2.0:
Master Black NORMAL
Detail MIN
Black NORMAL
White Clip 108%
Knee 90%
Color Matrix Standard
Values
R GAIN 1
R ROT 1
G GAIN 3
G ROT 2
B GAIN 2
B ROT NORMAL
Gamma Cinema
Gamma Level Normal
Color Gain Normal
Enjoy!

Ervin Farkas October 26th, 2011, 06:14 AM Paolo developed his scene files for the HD100 initially; he may have adapted them later for the HD200.
Here is his own text description, the latest version named True Color 3 for the HD100, dated December 2008.
Does anyone have the actual .scn file?
Thank you,
Joachim Claus October 30th, 2011, 02:52 AM I looked through my computer stored backups, and found a copy of Paolo's scene file setting. This file can be unzipped, copied to an SD-card and loaded into the HD 100.
Joachim
Ervin Farkas October 31st, 2011, 05:42 PM Thanks Joachim,
Do you know which of them is this... TC1, TC2, or TC3?
Joachim Claus November 1st, 2011, 11:07 AM I am note sure, whether I understand your question. I think the HD100 can have internal scene files (storedin the camcorder's memory) and external scene files (stored on SD-card). The one I added to my previous contribution was stored as an external file on SD-card.

Ervin Farkas November 1st, 2011, 01:56 PM I'm afraid you're right... we're not on the same page. I AM familiar with the way files are stored...
TC1, TC2, and TC3 are the names the author gave to his files in different developmental stages, and TC stands for True Color.
TC3 is what I am looking for, being the best one, closest to... well.. true color.
Joachim Claus November 2nd, 2011, 10:53 AM @Ervin
o.k., I see. According to my records, the posted .scn file corresponds to Paolo's TC2.
