There's now an updated version of Titler Pro available. Just go to the same download page provided by Sony, download the new version (the file name will be the same), and install. You will need the serial number provided by Sony again during installation. This version includes several bug fixes.

Likewise Edward, I'll try this out when I get back home tomorrow. It might be the cure I'm looking for!

thanks ian ;-)

still cheesed off - really don't understand....

a. why nb can't use version numbers

b. why, when i click 'check for updates' in about it tells me i have the latest version (111013)

c. the download has no indication of version number either

frankly this is pretty pathetic, even when the titler is terrific.

The build of the new version is 111024. After the update, the "Check for Updates" option will also work correctly which will give you another way to check.

a. why nb can't use version numbers
NewBlue uses version/build numbers. Go to Help - About in the titler and you will see the version/build number. The new build number is 111024 so if your build number is lower than that, you are not on the current version.

b. why, when i click 'check for updates' in about it tells me i have the latest version (111013)
The "Check for Updates" option in the initial release was pointing to the wrong file. This has been corrected in the new build and will properly function from this point forward.

c. the download has no indication of version number either
The file name is the same as the previous file name. There are several reasons behind this. However, it *IS* a new version.

Ed, question:

The install gave me the Sony Vegas plug-in. It also installed NewBlue Titler Pro Host. The plug-in accepted the serial number that came with VP 11 just fine. But the Host does not like the serial number. It has just informed me I have 5 days left.

What gives?

I've downloaded the new version, but for the life of me, I can't find the serial number for NewBlue Titler in the Sony documentation that was emailed with the download details for Vegas Pro11. The unlock code for Vegas is there, but not for the titler...
I've contacted Sony Creative, but await a reply.
I suppose contacting NewBlue themselves is the next step.

Robin, sony handles the serial number distribution so you will need to contact them for any serial number related issues.

Adam, please uninstall the 111013 build and install the updated 111024 build which started this post. Test Host is not included in the newer build. Test Host is exactly that - a "test" program we used to help determine where some issues were happening. Titler is not designed to be used as a standalone program but, instead, plugs directly into your NLE.

The serial number provided by Sony gets entered into the installation program. Once installed, it will work fine in Vegas Pro 11 without you needing to do any more "activations" or anything else using a serial number.
