I am shooting three football games this weekend and would like to get some "pop" out of my camera footage and I do not want to have to adjust it in post. Do you have any good setting's that I can use?

Do you have any good setting's that I can use? Bill Watson October 25th, 2011, 02:47 AM I use Vivid RGB in the field: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh-series-hdv-camcorders/126811-xh-custom-presets-download-library-copy-6.html#post912806 Matthew Amirkhani October 25th, 2011, 07:52 AM Hi Guy, You can use the Panalook2 I think you'll be happy with it. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh-series-hdv-camcorders/126811-xh-custom-presets-download-library-copy-15.html Guy Godwin October 25th, 2011, 02:28 PM Are there any examples or stills with these presets? Matthew Amirkhani October 25th, 2011, 06:57 PM Use the link that I posted for you and do your search. I am sure you'll come up with some samples. Bill Watson October 25th, 2011, 10:44 PM Why not download those two presets, go outside and shoot a bit of footage on both, then come back inside and compare them on your tv screen? Or, better still, hook the camera up to your tv, aim the camera out the window and switch between the presets and get a realtime comparison? Allan Black October 25th, 2011, 11:43 PM I use VividRGB mostly but Panalook2 is good too. After you've used them for a while you get to know what each is good for. The key is getting the right white balance every time you change scenes. I've been using ExpoDisc for a couple years, you just can't beat it for mixed lighting sources which the camera WB never seemed to get right. ExpoImaging ExpoDisc 72mm Digital White Balance Filter EXPOD72 Avoid the cheap Ebay copies at all costs. Cheers. I'm trying...I can't seem to get my camera to recognize the preset on the SD card. Matthew Amirkhani October 28th, 2011, 07:01 PM Guy, This is what you do. Open a folder named PRESET in Capital letters. Copy and past the present into the folder. Put it on a SD card and insert it into the slot in camer and it will work. Good Luck! Guy Godwin October 28th, 2011, 07:05 PM I assume I have to transfere it into the camera. When I get to the SD to Camera icon is not whited out. It acts as if it is not accessable. Matthew Amirkhani October 28th, 2011, 08:04 PM You can leave it on the SD card and use the presets of that from XHA1. Guy Godwin October 28th, 2011, 08:20 PM So can i have more than one preset in that folder or just one? Also, will it pull up the name PANALOOK2 in the menu? Matthew Amirkhani October 28th, 2011, 08:25 PM You can have 9 in total. Matthew Amirkhani October 28th, 2011, 08:28 PM Go through this tread and read as much as you can you will find all the answers that you are looking for. http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-xh-series-hdv-camcorders/126811-xh-custom-presets-download-library-copy.html Good Luck! Guy Godwin October 28th, 2011, 08:56 PM I did not read all that but. I did realize you have to change the name of the .cpf to PRESET01 or what ever number you want. Allan Black October 29th, 2011, 04:04 PM So can i have more than one preset in that folder or just one? Also, will it pull up the name PANALOOK2 in the menu? You can install 5 custom presets, the cam comes with 4. On the A1 it displays the CP number you have selected. Same with the A1 S model but when you press the CP button it displays that CP *name* . When I was first fiddling around with presets on the A1, I wrote my 5 CP *names* on a small piece of paper and taped it to the back edge of the battery .. pop the lid open and there they are. I entered my 5 by hand because I wanted to learn their properties After a while I got to know the names of the numbers that appeared in the display. Cheers. Guy Godwin October 29th, 2011, 05:01 PM It took me a little while but I finally got it working. I like the Vivid look. Allan Black October 30th, 2011, 03:22 AM Yep it's a favourite of a lot of A1/S users. Another thing .. to keep the dust and microgrit out of the camera mic, install this windscreen .. comes in a few colours and fits neatly .. Shure A58WS-BL - Blue Windscreen for Ball Mics A58WS-BLU B&H Dust in the capsule of a mic from using it outdoors will eventually degrade its performance. About twice a year wash the windscreen thoroughly in hand soap and water .. rinse it out and let it dry naturally. That windscreen won't stop any but the lightest of breezes. To help this, in the audio setup menu, put the low cut 'in' to help. Hope this helps :) Cheers. |
