Hi all. I am having an issue with Dvd Architect Pro 5. I created a video clip in Sony Vegas to use as the background in Architect. I rendered out this clip from Vegas using mpeg2 settings, the same that I use for rendering the main video for Dvd (Pal land here). For a reson that I don't know, hence this thread, Architect is encoding once again this clip for the background. The bad thing is that the quality of the background clip when seeing the menu on the dvd is not as good as the original clip rendered from Vegas! The main video clip (a 2hour 20 min wedding) which is rendered out of vegas with exactly the same settings is not re-rendered in Architect. Any idea on how this re-rendering can be eliminated?

The DVDA manual lists 3 conditions that must be met or it will recompress a menu.

1. Any background video must match the project video format.
2. No graphics can be added to the menu.
3. Buttons must use highlighting only. Using button thumbnails or text will require recompression.

You've met #1 so it must be #2 or #3 that's giving you grief.

Infact I did add a .psd graphic and also used text buttons so thats the reason. But what boders me is the fact that the background clip is of a lower quality then the original clip. Probably have to live with it. Thanks Mike for the info
