Using Vegas 9 and 10...is there a way to display the time and date of an MTS video?

Only if you know the date/time and add it as a text title. Vegas does not read the date/time for overtalying - timecode, yes - date/time, no.

I'm looking for a way to display the timecode on the video, doesn't have to be the time it was shot, but just starting at 00:00:00 at the beginning of a video project and showing the run time of the video on the screen of a finished video, so that you can locate a particular point in the video from a printed log. Is there a way to do this in Vegas 9?

Drop the TImecode FX on the Preview window and it will be over top of everything.
