Matt Thomas October 17th, 2011, 09:52 AM What's the Cinema Profile?
You can get the Technicolor Cinestyle picture style for free.

First test of the new amazing "CINEMA" Picture Style for EOS on Vimeo
More description and links at the video's page (ie, go to vimeo)
CINEMA Picture Style download (http://www.cineplus.ch/cinema.html)
Interesting. Looks nice and old school. Seems like he pulled down the highlights, where cinestyle brings up the darks (plus other things of course in both cases).
Dunno how I feel about paying for these things though.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but that Vimeo post described as amazing is posted by the vendor. To me, words like: "First test of the new amazing "CINEMA" Picture Style for EOS on Vimeo" look like they are designed to appear as if posted by a reviewer, not the vendor.
Secondly, on his site, there is a prominent link to a "Review by Philip Bloom", yet when you follow it, right at the top it says:
"Philip: I haven’t used the new “Cinema” picture profile, yet, but Preston has and he has written this post looking at it and other ones he likes."
It might be a great asset to have, and in all probability well worth the money for all I know ( I haven't investigated yet), but I'm not impressed with the marketing!
Matt Thomas October 27th, 2011, 06:52 AM Yeah, I'm intrigued by it, but I wouldn't want to buy one without trying it out first.

Is Giovanni Speranza and John Hope the same guy?

Let me set the record straight, I read a previous poster's comments and came to the conclusion John Hope was the author, so let me withdraw that comment with apologies.
Next up, the Philip Bloom review claim....

Ollie Walton November 15th, 2011, 11:01 AM might purchase this now. Anymore reviews?
Jon Fairhurst November 15th, 2011, 01:17 PM A friend of mine bought it and he's less than happy with its effect on the sky. The sky tends to become desaturated and a bit green. The developer responded that this is a feature as it models some older film stocks. My friend was disappointed, since this wasn't his expectation.
Personally, I don't see it as good or bad. Just consider if that is the look you want. For many, teal blues are exactly what people want.
