I am building a new system for editing with Premiere cs5.5 and I have a couple questions. 1. What is the best bang for the buck Nvidia card these days? 2. Should I go with the i-7 2600K or the i-980? Does the Sandy Bridge really help for editing or is it mainly advantages for "Quicksync"?
Thanks
Randy

1. GTX 560 TI or GTX 570.
2. i7-2600K is a great CPU for the price. Only the mobo is limited to 16 PCI-e lanes, which means you can not easily install a dedicated raid controller, unless you accept the video card to drop down to 8x speed, instead of 16x. The 980 is much more expensive, but does not have the 16 lane limitation on the mobo and most importantly it is a hexa-core, which shows especially with H.264 encoding.

Is there really such a difference between the gtx470 and th 570 to justify the price difference. It's a 100 dollars and/or Euros difference. For that money you can get an SSD for page file and maybe for project files...

Thank you Harm for the reply. RAID controllers aside is editing going to be smoother with a 6 core i-7 (gulftown) or a 4 core Sandybridge? I would assume Adobe will eventually support quicksync maybe in version 6. I dont mind spending the extra money for the 6 core if its going to be faster.
