View Full Version : Special Request: Need a screengrab of EVF/LCD info of EX1R
Jack Zhang September 26th, 2011, 09:11 PM Hello all EX1R owners,
I need a screengrab of the on screen display of the EX1R while recording. Preferably, I think people with Nanoflashes can do this easily.
Please do not place a complex background behind the OSD, It should in essence be a solid color.
I've tried to find this on Google Images to no avail, so now I'm asking EX1R (plus Nanoflash) owners to help me out in getting this screengrab that I need for a personal project.
Full 1920x1080 resolution if you can, please.
Olof Ekbergh September 27th, 2011, 07:18 AM There are lots of different ways that info can be displayed. Lots of variations of data display.
Probably 20 different variations or more. Histogram, safe areas etc. All the batt etc. info TC, audio levels on/off.
Refer to the manual. Available in PDF format.
I can give you a screen shot, but w/o an idea of what info you want on the screen, it may not be what you are looking for.
Jack Zhang September 28th, 2011, 03:07 PM OK, so here's the specifics:
*The focus indicator to be on and it needs to be near infinity (hence, manual focus)
*The shutter at 1/60
*ND1 filter on
*Around F5.6 or F8 (bright sunlight)
*Gain at 0db
*No Histogram
*The camera to be in HQ 1080i/60 mode
*an SxS in Slot A, 8GB or 16GB will do. No specific rec remain required, but the indicator has to be there.
*Timecode at 01:10:00:00 when the recording starts and the snapshot should be around a couple of seconds after that
*TLCS on STD
*Steadyshot Off
*95% safe zone marker
*Audio levels near -20db
*Use a BP-U** battery, no voltages
*Zoom should be not too wide, around Z5 might do.
*White Balance Preset to Outdoors (I'm guessing 5600K)
Really important: The image behind the display cannot be complex, nor can it be pitch black. It needs to be mostly a solid color.
If additional info may be required to get a better sense of what the camera would be filming, this is simulating filming a landmark.
Vincent Oliver September 29th, 2011, 02:37 AM Is this for commercial use?
I presume that with such a specific list of requirements that you will be offering Olof or other supplier, a fee for their time.
Olof Ekbergh September 29th, 2011, 06:38 AM Yes what is the purpose of this "screen shot"?
I can certainly do all this. Would a green/blue screen be the best BG?
Contact me by email if you like we can arrange for this shot if you like.
Doug Jensen September 29th, 2011, 05:53 PM I presume that with such a specific list of requirements that you will be offering Olof or other supplier, a fee for their time.
I was thinking the exact same thing, but didn't want to say it. How much does this job pay?
Jack Zhang September 30th, 2011, 08:02 PM This is an element of a art commission and is for non-commercial use. My apologies in advance, but if this is to be a paid thing, all I can offer is $4CAD via PayPal.
Jack Zhang October 2nd, 2011, 08:29 PM I'm assuming from no responses that this was a waste of people's time. I'm sorry about this and once again apologize for wasting your time.
Vincent Oliver October 3rd, 2011, 12:00 AM Olof gave you a positive response. You didn't waste anyone's time, your request was perhaps a bit too specific for most people on this forum, it was more in keeping with a commission, but at $4 CAD it undermines any professional.
I will put together a screen shot for you with all your requirements and send it to you later today, in return I want you to donate $20 CAD to a local charity of your choice.
Let me know if you agree to this.
Jack Zhang October 3rd, 2011, 01:53 AM I'll have to skip lunch for a day, but I will have $20 ready.
Unfortunately I am clueless to where to physically drop off my donation here in Vancouver. Any suggestions Vancouverites? Preferably near Metrotown would do best.

.
I am sure someone else will benefit from your small sacrifice. Will send you the screen grab later this afternoon.
Vincent Oliver October 3rd, 2011, 05:46 AM Here we go a 1920 x 1080 screen shot. The focus distance element does not appear on the capture although it is displayed in the viewfinder
Jack Zhang October 3rd, 2011, 06:44 AM If you are still able to perform a capture, I would appreciate the time display to be in TCG. If this is asking too much, I'll take what I can get. But if possible, I would like the time display in TCG please.
Vincent Oliver October 3rd, 2011, 08:32 AM Sorry about that, here is another shot
Jack Zhang October 3rd, 2011, 09:44 AM Thank you very much. This will do. You've been a great help, Vincent.
Vincent Oliver October 3rd, 2011, 09:53 AM No problem, don't forget the charity donation.
Jack Zhang October 3rd, 2011, 01:59 PM Donated to the Local Union Gospel Mission. E-mail me your email address and I'll send you an image of proof of payment.
Vincent Oliver October 3rd, 2011, 03:53 PM No need to send me proof Jack your word is good enough for me. Hope your art project is a success,
Andrew Stone October 4th, 2011, 01:28 PM Excellent choice for your charity Jack.
