Allen September 26th, 2011, 02:09 PM Try MPEG Streamclip - it's free. BTW .mp4 is a kind of .mov. John Doran September 26th, 2011, 02:20 PM trying it now, is that the only way FCP will take mp4? thanks John Doran September 26th, 2011, 02:24 PM no good to jerky R Geoff Baker September 26th, 2011, 03:21 PM Convert it to ProRes. mov describes the container, but you need a codec easier to edit than avchd (mp4) so go with ProRes. Cheers, GB John Doran September 26th, 2011, 03:49 PM hi geoff cheers what pro res? in PAL land here, there are a few best john. R Geoff Baker September 26th, 2011, 04:06 PM If I read your question as 'which of the ProRes options should I use' the answer is I guess which ever one your hard drive can stand, but in truth you can't 'improve' from your source, so the ProRes 422 LT should be fine. PAL or NTSC makes no difference here -- they are all the same codec, it is only the framerate that changes. Cheers, GB John Doran September 27th, 2011, 01:37 AM ok geoff will try that thanks john |
